Looking Into 2020

Happy New Year!! Today is the last day of 2019 and I can’t believe it. In a way, it’s sad, but it’s also very exciting! I look at my current journal, flip through the empty pages and wonder what kind of words will fill them.

Alrighty…. enough reminiscing! (Is it reminiscing if you’re looking ahead? *shrugs*) Let’s get on with this!

Books To Read

The Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
-The rest of The Mysterious Benedict Society series by Trenton Lee Stewart
Holes by Louis Sachar
Burning Rose by Hope Ann
Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis

And I know I could go on for a looong time, so we’ll stop there. My goal is to read 50 books by the end of the year!

To Accomplish In My Writing

-Flesh out my second story (that is nameless at this point) and finish the first draft (aiming for 40,000 words)
-Write two flash fiction stories
-Begin a new, longer story

That’s all I’ve got so far. The flash fiction is new to me, so I’m a little nervous to attempt it. But I think once I’ve done it multiple times I’ll really enjoy it.

Things I’m Looking Forward To

-Turning sixteen! I feel so old now. I’ve always read about sixteen-year-olds in books, and they were… old. 😜 But it’s exciting.
-Driving!! With the age of sixteen comes the long awaited license to drive!

It’s going to be a fun year! 2020. Sounds like something important should happen! I guess we’ll see where this year takes us. I hope you all have a very joyful and productive year!
