Baby Eyes

So… I don’t write poems. Pretty much EVER. Then one day I thought I’d be a really cool poet person and keep a notebook of all my poems I was going to write.

NEVER HAPPENED.

I wrote possibly one and a half poems (if they can even be called that).

Anyhooo, I don’t really feel like sharing my half-poem with you guys, but I can share this one. I actually entered this into a little poem contest for our school. Didn’t win. (No, I’m not bitter at all.πŸ˜‰)

Baby Eyes is a short poem about a little foster child we had in our home for a few months. Enjoy!

Baby Eyes

Bright eyes sparkle warm and brown,

eyes of a babe like a pearl in a crown

Her tiny fingers caress my face

I wrap her in a warm embrace

She gives a grin and runs to hide

her adorable eyes round and wide

Drool dribbles off her chin

Stealing my heart she succeeds to win

Without even trying, I love her even when she’s crying.

I hope you couldn’t see through my “total expert at writing poems” faΓ§ade. Because… clearly I’m not…

Anyhow! That’s my first and probably only poem. And now, a cute little GIF that relates to my every-day life:
